A Bit of This, A Bit of That...

We had a busy morning today.  Free Play, Sensory Table, Bunny Ear's Craft and that was all before we went outside for more fun.  The kids enjoyed the different activities going on and spent a lot of time going between each one.

Yes, 'Lil Bit did get the bowl from Scamp...
but Scamp didn't care, she just went on playing with what was in front of her.
You have to know when to intervene and when to let nature take it's own course,
this was one of those times to let well enough alone ;)
Don't you just love it when they have to move their heads right down close to what they are working on...

Cotton Balls really get sticky when you apply glue ;)

Tomorrow we will be pretending to be Easter Bunnies hiding eggs in the yard...
We Can't Wait!!!

When we moved outside there was a lot of free play going on, but I try to have some kind of "messy" project going on.  Being outside gives the kids more free range on what they play with and they are able to get their whole bodies into it.  The littlest ones seem to really enjoy getting messy and slimy on a more regular basis (sorry about the clothing Mom and Dad), while the big kids will not get so messy so often.  I can't figure out if their is a reason or it is just mood.

You can see that Roo has taken to just using the cookie cutters for the prints.
She will usually begin to finger paint or paint her hands, but I think that there was
more fun to be had playing "house" and she had to be clean for that :

Cleaning Up... well, can playing be counted as cleaning up??
'Lil Bit started out like this...
Look at that extension!!
She always has to rub those hands like the paint is soap.
She must love the feel of it!!
Talking to herself and cleaning those hands!!!
 Another wonderfully, busy morning!!!

A Little Sensory Fun

We had the Easter Sensory Table ready today!!
What fun!!

Just a glimpse into our day!!

We also had the Librarian come for a special Easter Story Time today, too.
You really can't ask for more fun than that.

Busy Day!!!

We had a pretty busy day today.  Sometimes I can't believe how much we fit in.  I will say right now that I have lots of photos.  I wanted to include a few from all our fun stuff today, since there was so much to do and fun to be had!!

Lil Bit's Mom brought us some neat stuff called Flarp.  You can usually get it in the dollar bin at Micheal's Craft Store and it is great fun.  It feels squishy, wet, and slimy but you don't get all yucky while playing with it.  It reminds me a little of Silly Putty, but it feels slimy and wet, but it isn't really wet.  It a cool experience!!

Everyday at Circle Time we do music and movement... I have found this helps our littlest guys and girls keep the wiggles down to a minimum.  We LOVE Jim Gill.  Jim Gill was a presenter at the NAFCC Conference in Las Vegas this past summer and I bought as many CD's as I could while I was there.  We are hooked on his The Sneezing Song and other Contagious Tunes CD right now, particularly the Hands Are For Clapping song.  It gets up, moving, clapping, snapping, tapping, and brushing our teeth... it's great fun!!

Scamp trying to snap... to cute!!

Slapping our knees...
we could do it hard, soft, fast, slow, and even while we jumped up and down!!!

We have also been learning about the color Pink!!  We love Pink!!
Today we did some golf ball painting with red and white paint... what do you think happened??
Yup, it turned pink!!!  How fun!!

Yup, you thought that was it didn't you... nope.  We even got to take a quick walk around the block today.  The weather was unbelievably warm.  Out we went for an adventure!!!

Lil Bit bringing up the caboose ;)

"You still with me Shell??"

Finding treasures in our pockets

Little Man collected "Pokey Plants"
(some sort of pod with pokey points sticking out all over)

"Hmmm"

"Got one too!!"

"Yeah!!"
We had a very busy morning and enjoyed it totally!!  It went by so quick, I couldn't believe how late it was when we got back to start lunch.  We all worked up an appetite and eat our fill, hopefully our nap will be restful and complete ;)

Orange You Having Fun??

I have always said, "Having a Silly Provider makes everything more fun!" even when said provider comes up with a silly title to a post :)

So... we used our bright orange rice in the sensory table today.  I haven't seen this much action at the sensory table in a long time.  I don't know if it was the color that engaged the kids or the texture of the rice, sound of the rice on the different equipment or maybe just because they were excited it wasn't sand :) but whatever the reason.... they LOVED it!!!

I also introduced the letter Cc today in Circle Time!!  What better way to celebrate the letter Cc than making a Crown!!!  Tomorrow, after they have all dried, we will put them on for our Orange Finding Field Trip!!!  You can always find the color Orange with a Crown on your head!!!

"Cheese, now can I PLEASE get back to painting!!"

Scamp wasn't feeling 100% today, but she still gave painting a try

The jewels made her a little happier!!!

I made up this little activity this morning.
The kids loved Circling the C's with Orange crayon.
(I know, it doesn't make much sense... but we laughed)
