A Day at the Park

What could be hiding in the grass??

What a wonderful day at the park!!  Our community has this gorgeous park they opened last summer and now that the Spring weather is here we can begin to enjoy it again!!  It has something for just about everyone and a parent/provider can see everything, which makes keeping an eye on those faster preschoolers a lot easier!!!

When Lil Bit came to my home for the first time, she screamed when she saw my boys, of  which I have 4 of.  I said, to her Mom, "If she comes here, I'm sure she will get used to them."

She won't leave them alone now... of course they spoil her, which helps a lot ;)

A much needed water break!!

They had this snake type of slide there, which I have to say, was not to easy to use.

Roo was determined to do it like the big kids...

That look of trepidation was not lost on me...
I set the camera down and helped her down...
She did great!!!

We really had a great day at the park.  It was nice to be able to spend lots of one-on-one time with the 2 kiddos I have this week!!  I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring ;)

Paint, Park and the Big, Big Kids

Although we got off to a late start this morning we packed as much as we could into the time we had!!!
We are exploring the color Pink this week, so what better way to begin that exploration than to get out LOTS of paint and just dive in!!!

SQUEEZE!!!!

Look at me!!!

Working to make those little fingers strong!!

I love this photo showing them all working with the same things...
gaining something different or maybe the same??

What??

I'm not so sure about this...
It's everywhere

Watching & Learning

Watch Sissy.... I can give you more!!!
After a busy morning getting dirty, messy, slimy and very, very pink... off we went to the PARK!!!

Up & Down
We are even learning at the park ;)

The big kids using the swings...
Little Man wants in on this too!!!

Aren't I just the cutest, Shell!!!

Practicing going UP the slide...

Laughing when she came DOWN the slide!!!

My Kozy Kids!!!

The big, big kids had the day off from school today.  It was really great to have them play with us today.  Having siblings around and showing off is always fun and having all those big, big kids laugh at everything the little ones do and say, has got to be the best part of their day!!!

Our Morning Out

I haven't been to the library in a very, very long time!!  Our library went through a time where they cut some programs and I had a bad experience at a story time with my childcare kids, so we didn't visit often.  Well, it's been almost 2 years since I brought my childcare back and I am sorry I haven't gotten there sooner.  The new Librarian was amazing, welcoming, and understanding, not just of us, but of ALL the Moms & Dads of young children.  We went to a 2-3yr old story time and it was amazing!!  The kids loved it.  There was dancing, singing, and of course story reading.  The books were all quick, engaging and funny.  It was a fun time!!  We also went on our Orange Finding Field Trip through the children's library and found some great Orange Things!!

Stretch....

This could have been the highlight of the morning :)

An ORANGE book

An ORANGE tag

This ORANGE bow held together a piece of a beautiful little hanging quilt

ORANGE beads...
All at the LIBRARY!!!

These are not quiet toys, so you know the Librarians had to be  great!!

Working together

Wow... so much to see and do

Shakin Eggs during a song... I'm not sure they were comfortable getting up and moving during the story time... it was interesting.

But we still got into it!!

Leaving with some books!!!
What a great time at the Library... we will definitely be back!!!

Now the library is fun, but we all knew we couldn't run, jump, climb, or yell when we are there.  So, what would be a better way to finish off our morning but with a trip to the park!!!

We are all very hungry after our trip to the library... so we started off with snack!!!

WEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Playing Peek-a-Boo

"Shell, I'm stuck!!"

I see you!!!

Hanging from the ladder is another totally favorite thing to do!!!

"I don't want to go!!"
What a great morning... the kids really enjoyed both the library and the park.  This weather makes me yearn for Springtime when we can do this more often.  We will enjoy it while it is here and hopefully Spring will come sooner than later :)

W is for Weather

A new week is upon us and we got busy playing and learning!! I bought a few new bouncy balls and Little Man found them right away this morning. Those balls kept him busy for a half an hour, he just pushed them, crawled after them, and held onto them... then repeated, over and over again. Mastering a skill, loving it!! We had some Practical Life work going on also. Last week I introduced a "tray" with a bucket, some cute character wash clothes, and a small scrub brush and showed them how to wash the tables. I'm sure you can imagine, it was a hit. I have the cleanest tables. I think I need to introduce the dusting work next, my shelves always need to be dusted.

( Even Little Man wants to help)

During Circle today we talked about the letter Ww. It is a tricky letter, because it's sound isn't the same as how you pronounce the letter. They want to make the sound "da"... so we first talked about it's sound. Then we thought about different words we could think of that started with a W... Worm, Watermelon, Wagon, Walk, and (with my hinting) Weather!!

We read the book, The Sun is My Favorite Star, by Frank Asch, and Oh Say Can You Say What's the Weather Today? by Tish Rabe, which is from The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library series. We mostly talked about today's weather, Sunny, Warm, and VERY Windy. I introduced them to their Weather Journal that we will record the weather this week and unanimously decided that after such a rainy, cold week last week, the weather was telling us to bag our plans for the day and get to the park... so that is just what we did. On the walk we talked about the wind, how it was blowing the trees, leaves, etc... and especially how it was blowing the clouds away. That was something we learned about in our weather book. Connections being made, Yeah!!!

(Ok, I know you won't believe this, but Little Miss M is doing Acupuncture on Sprout. Her Aunt does it to her, to cute!!!)

Having Fun!!!

The boat became a House today. They read books in there, played house, and built with the blocks to make a castle. By the end of the morning they wanted to turn it back into a boat though, we'll see what it become tomorrow.

Tomorrow we will get back to experimenting with the weather, but I'm glad we were able to get out and have fun.
