They both have their perks. As an adult you're pretty much free to do whatever you want, that's legal at least. But it also comes with annoying responsibilities like paying rent/bills/food, working jobs and other such things to try to get by. There are no parents to cover for you so any trouble you run into is your own problem.

There are setbacks and advantages. Children in third world countries help in the farm when the family is involved in the farming.
