Letters, Water Balloons, Fun

Sorry so late in getting this post up... I usually complete it at nap time, but today we had water balloon fun planned for after nap and I wanted to add it in. Then of course 2 of my 4 boys had baseball tonight. It is now 10pm and I am finally getting on the computer.

We have been learning about the letter Kk this week... a confusing letter for some of the kids. They know that Cc makes the kakaka sound, but now they are thinking maybe the Cc makes the SaSa sound they hear when they say Cc. We went over some pictures with the word next to it, Kitten, Koala, Kangaroo, King... it was still a little confusing, but they have kindergarten to sort it out (when their brains are more ready for it).

We also made Kite's at the Art Table with krinkle paper. It was fun using the glue and sticking the paper on. They needed A LOT of glue to keep the krinkle paper on the kite.

I love the way she is putting just one string of paper on at a time... she doesn't like to get her hands sticky :)

We took it outside with some water works... we decided to clean the slide that got the mud bath I wrote about here.

Water Balloons are always fun. We spent a lot of time filling them, and 1 out of every 3 continued to POP as soon as we put them in the basket. All part of the fun. The kids laughed and giggled every time they POPPED!! We finally got enough together to play some games, we started out with the Water Balloon Toss, which is always fun. They quickly moved on to the Water Balloon Soak... I couldn't get to many photos of since I wanted to stay relatively dry :)
Water, Fun, Sun... A Perfect Day

  1. Believe it or not, Michelle, I've always been too timid to try water balloons at school, even though kids always start requesting it about this time of year. I think this post may have got me off my timidity!

  2. Teacher Tom,
The kids love them... so much that they don't even fuss when it is time to pick up all the little pieces :) We get out cups and who ever gets their cup half full gets a prize. (usually ice cream we had planned on having for snack anyway) Clean up is a breeze. I haven't had any tears, and if one breaks, there is usually another to take it's place. Good Luck!!!

  3. I done them a few times, too, and we've never had an issue.
    I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait...!!!!!
